The 2012 Vetrepreneur of the Year Announced by NaVOBA and JP Morgan

Pittsburgh, PA  (Profitable.com)  The National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA), in partnership with JP Morgan Chase and Co., announced today that U.S. Army veteran Frank Bonanno, president of the Fifth Avenue Restaurant Group is the 2012 Vetrepreneur of the Year®, a prestigious honor bestowed annually to only the finest role models the veteran-owned business movement has to offer.

“I’m truly honored to have earned this award,” Bonnano said. “My military training plays a huge part of who I am and the way I run my business, so this recognition is very special to me.”

Bonanno’s company employs 700 people and posted revenues exceeding $60 million last year. He owns 47 franchise restaurant locations in Las Vegas and other areas including, but not limited to: 11 Nathan’s Famous restaurants; nine Haagen-Dazs restaurants; five Johnny Rockets restaurants, and four Bonnano’s New York Pizzeria restaurants, to name a few.

Bonanno graced the cover of the June 2012 issue of Vetrepreneur, NaVOBA’s national magazine. To read more about Bonanno visit http://www.navoba.com/VOY2012.

The Vetrepreneur of the Year® demonstrates the finest attributes crucial in leading a flourishing business; sustained business growth and success, and an extensive aspiration to cultivate veteran entrepreneurship. The judging criteria include an assessment of financial performance, company growth, leadership, profitability, integrity and values.

The notion that military training is world-class preparation for running a business is reinforced by the fact that one out of every seven veterans in the U.S. owns a business, according to Census data. That’s twice the national average.

“JPMorgan Chase & Co. congratulates Frank Bonnano on this great achievement, and we are a very proud sponsor of the Vetrepreneur of the Year award,” said Richard Buccarelli, Chief Procurement Officer for JPMorgan Chase & Co. “We recognize the tremendous sacrifices Frank and his fellow veterans have made for our nation. It’s a great honor for us to be a part of NaVOBA and support veteran-owned businesses.”
