Logo.com Sold For $500,000 via Sedo.comCHICAGO & CAMBRIDGE, Mass.  (Profitable.com)  Logo.com, LLC announced that they have purchased the domain name Logo.com for $500,000 through Sedo, the leading online domain marketplace and monetization provider. Logo.com, LLC was formed to facilitate the domain purchase and will act as the company’s parent corporation. The company was founded by veteran domain investors and ecommerce developers Adam Strong and Alan Townsend.

Logo.com will provide logo design and other services to small businesses and entrepreneurs, including website design, business card and letterhead design and printing. The company also plans to introduce other small business services such as domain registration, Internet marketing consulting, accounting and legal assistance.

“The domain name Logo.com gives us an immediate presence in the online logo design space.” said Alan Townsend. “Our primary goal is to provide small business customers with affordable, high quality logo designs that help them successfully establish their company’s identity. Long term, our goal is to also provide customers with additional synergistic products and services that they’ll need to operate their businesses. We have a tremendous opportunity to market these products and services to our customers while their businesses are still in the startup phase.”

In addition to serving new business owners, Townsend also points out the importance of catering to the needs of existing businesses. “Established companies can utilize our logo and website redesign services to rejuvenate their businesses. It’s amazing what a new look can do to boost customer confidence and increase sales.” said Townsend. He adds that Logo.com has the capabilities to replace a customer’s current design agency and manage everything from branding to custom illustrations, all under one roof.

“Short, descriptive and memorable domain names like logo.com are highly valuable to small businesses because they not only help improve search engine rankings, but significantly cut costs needed for ongoing marketing,” said Jeremiah Johnston, COO and general counsel of Sedo.com. “We look forward to working with Logo.com to help boost their online presence.”

Strong and Townsend plan on establishing Logo.com as a global brand. “The word logo translates the same in English, German, French, Italian, Polish and other languages.” said Adam Strong. “There’s no translation needed for potential customers from other countries who type Logo.com into their browser and find our website. Once they visit our site, we’ll give these customers the ability to shop in their own language.” Townsend adds, “Because the word logo is relevant in so many countries outside of the U.S., Logo.com gives us the ability to compete on country specific search engines. This gives us a significant advantage over our U.S. based competitors whose domains and websites won’t necessarily be recognized as being as relevant as Logo.com by foreign search engines.”

Adam Strong is President of Strong, Inc., a domain development and brokerage company. Adam is a well known authority on the domain name industry and has been an invited speaker at major industry events, including T.R.A.F.F.I.C., DomainFest and Domain Roundtable.
