Innovate!2010 “Pitch Slam” series kicks off in San Francisco, continues through summer and fall with events in Seattle, New York, Boston and other cities.
SAN FRANCISCO (Profitable.com) Produced by Guidewire Group, the leading analyst firm focused exclusively on startups and emerging markets, Innovate!2010 is a global program designed to identify and promote up-and-coming technology and communications startups via regional “Pitch Slam” events in cities around the world.
After a successful series of 14 Innovate!2010 Pitch Slams in Europe that began in Zaragoza, Spain and ended in Tallinn, Estonia, Guidewire Group launched its North American tour at the 2010 Semantic Technology conference in San Francisco on June 24th. Upcoming Innovate!2010 Pitch Slams will be held August 17th in Columbia, Missouri at the University of Missouri and August 18th in Seattle, Washington at the pii2010 conference, with plans underway for events in California, New York, Massachusetts and Texas.
Any qualified startup can apply to the Innovate!2010 program, and a select group of companies chosen as semi-finalists will be evaluated using Guidewire Group’s proprietary G/Score™ assessment methodology. The 100 most promising semi-finalists will then be named to the Innovate!100 list of top startups that will be released later this year.
The June 24th event, which was co-hosted by Semantic Universe, featured seven semi-finalists that were evaluated by a panel of expert judges: Hypios (winner), Gnowsis (runner-up) Smartlogic (runner-up), playence, Semantifi, Tip Top Technologies and zAgile. Hypios, a startup that helps companies solve research and development problems by leveraging an online marketplace of subject matter experts, guaranteed itself a spot on the prestigious Innovate!100 list by being named winner of the event.
Startups that apply to the Innovate!2010 program are also eligible to compete for a share of over $1 million in sponsored prizes that include cash and in-kind goods and services. Applications are now being accepted from startups interested in participating in an upcoming Innovate!2010 Pitch Slam. Details on the program, including reports from previous Pitch Slam events, can be found at www.Innovate100.com.
