Scott Brodsky, CEO of Empire Digital Products, comments on startup activity reaching a 13-year high in the United States.
Bohemia, NY (Profitable.com) On May 25, CEO of Empire Digital Products, Scott Brodsky, comments on a recent The Business Journals article that discusses startup activity in the United States reaching a 13-year high.
According to BizJournals.com, “nearly 13 percent of Americans were starting or running new businesses in 2012, the highest rate of entrepreneurial activity in the United States since at least 1999.” These statistics were provided by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor which is an annual report published by Babson College and Baruch College.
Further statistics show that Americans starting their own businesses are doing so because they want to not because it is a last resort. According to the report, “three out of four Americans starting a business are doing so because they see an opportunity, not because they can’t find a job and are going out on their own out of necessity.” Also, “more than 43 percent of Americans think there are good opportunities for entrepreneurs.” This result is the highest rate for that question in the survey’s 13-year history.
The men and women starting these businesses also have high hopes for the entrepreneurial ventures. According to the report, “37 percent of U.S. entrepreneurs expect to have more than five employees in the next five years.”
Empire Digital Products CEO, Scott Brodsky, is happy to see that entrepreneurship is on the rise in the country. “To see people feeling comfortable enough to start their own businesses and companies because they want to and not because they have to means that our economy is also on a healthy comeback. Being the CEO of my own company, it is comforting to see this and only enhances the positive outlook I have for the future.”
Empire Digital Products is currently one of the most well respected copier dealerships in New York. Their dual focus is on reducing overhead and enhancing document workflow. With the best service department in the industry and a very capable staff it is no wonder Empire has met with such success.
